In this continuing series of monthly updates, here you will find Seoul in the month of August. Despite only being here for 3 weeks of the month, a lot happened and I was able to document much of what I saw. This blog will show several things that passed in front of my lens as the month went on.
For the few weeks or so, I spent my time experimenting with and testing the Laowa 17mm f/4 for Fujifilm GFX. I had a fantastic time with this lens and my photographs from it can be seen on the official Laowa page linked above and my review on Fstoppers. A few images from this time can be found below.
After the storms had passed and the formidable 17mm was returned, it was time to catch up with some old friends. My good friend Simon Slater of The Secret Map was revisiting Seoul and a few of us got together for drinks and cigars. A familiar rooftop and some good food made for an excellent evening with friends to break up the work and summer storms.
The rest of the month was primarily dominated by documenting Seoul and other parts of Korea in between assignments. Much of this work was editorial and will end up on my business site, but below are some of the in-between moments. I hope this will suffice until those go live!
I’ve finally reached the end of my busy season and am sitting in Hong Kong International Aiport now trying to catch up with a little blogging before I head out to Myanmar this evening for the next leg of the Tattoos of Asia project. Expect a couple more sets of images tonight!
